FAT TRANSFER
The patient’s own fat can be used to fill in the lines and creases of the face which occur with aging. It can also be used to add volume to the lips. When injected beneath the skin, fat can temporarily fill out deep facial wrinkles, crease and furrows, and skin depressions, and also create fullness within the lips. In some cases, fat can be used to add volume in other areas of the body, such as the hips, buttocks, and thighs.

Initial Consultation for Fat Transfer Procedure
During your initial consultation with Dr. Naidu, she will discuss with you your desires and expectations from the procedure. This will include a complete medical history and an examination of the skin, soft tissue and muscles of the face. Dr. Naidu will suggest a procedure that suits you best and answer any questions that you might have.

Fat Transfer Procedure
During fat injection, fat cells are first harvested from the patient’s abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. They are then prepared and re-injected into areas of wrinkling or hollowing in the patient’s face. Small areas can be addressed under local anesthesia in the office, while larger injections are done in an outpatient surgery center. The procedure can take between 30 minutes to two hours depending upon the number of areas to be injected.

Post Fat Transfer Procedure
The results are visible immediately and you may return to normal activities the following day. Some patients experience transient bruising and swelling. The results can last up to six months.
